Chapter 10 Tony’s death?
Chapter 10 Tony’s death?
In the darkness, Tony groped forward and soon reached the red light.
He looked closely and found that it was an indicator light embedded in the door frame, emitting a hazy red light, dyeing the door red.
There were some English words printed on it. In the red light, Tony murmured, "Fire Exit? Emergency exit?"
He instinctively felt that something was wrong, and his hand that was originally holding the door handle loosened.
"That bastard just said there was no door, and now there's a door in front of me. If this isn't a trap, I won't touch a woman for a month!"
Tony raised the corner of his mouth, smiled contemptuously, and continued to explore around with his hands.
Sure enough, he felt a new door handle next to him, but in his sight, there was no door in front of him, just an ordinary wall.
"Ha, you really only know how to play this game. You said I saw through you, but you still don't believe it?"
Tony became more and more proud. He carefully turned the doorknob, opened a gap in the wall, leaned in to take a closer look inside, and found that it was a small room not much different from the previous two.
In the center of the room, his important partner Obadiah Stane was also tied to a chair with chains, looking listless.
Seeing this, Tony no longer hesitated, pushed the door open and walked in.
"Tony!"
As soon as he saw Tony, Obadiah's eyes lit up and he shouted in joy, "You finally came to save me! Quick, the key is on the wall to my right, take it down and help me unlock the chain!"
"key?"
Tony looked in the direction he said, and actually saw a key on the wall. He couldn't help but frowned slightly.
Seeing that there were no deadly devices such as chainsaws around Obadiah, he was not too anxious and greeted him with a smile: "Hi, Obadiah, God bless you, it seems that you were not hurt by them, otherwise I would be very sad."
Obadiah's face fell, and he urged, "Tony, you can say hello after you rescue me. I'm scared."
"I didn't know you were so cowardly before. Didn't you and my father go through mountains of swords and seas of fire?"
"It's not normal to be timid when you get old, and now something really happened."
"That's true. Oh, and you seemed to have known that I would show up?"
Tony asked his doubts, but Pepper was different from him, she knew nothing.
"Yes, there was a voice before that told me to stay quiet and wait for you to come and rescue me."
Obadiah couldn't bear it any longer and begged, "Tony, can we talk about this later? Please, please save me quickly."
"Okay, okay, no problem."
Tony responded, but he looked around and slowly took in the layout of the room.
However, like the other two rooms, this one was still empty. The only larger items were the chair where Obadiah was sitting and a camera installed in the corner of the ceiling.
Tony glanced at the camera. He would never believe that the bastard would let him get the real key so easily. He must have set a trap or used a deception to deceive people.
However, after looking around, he did not see any signs of a trap.
Finally, Tony stood in front of the key, and under Obadiah's constant urging, he reached out and gently touched the key.
It felt cold to the touch and Tony raised his eyebrows in surprise. Is this actually true?
He took the key with doubts, without triggering any mechanism, and successfully came in front of Obadiah.
Facing his expectant gaze, Tony spread his hands and said, "Don't hold your hopes too high. I don't think it can necessarily untie the chains on you."
Obadiah nodded repeatedly: "But we should give it a try, right?"
"Okay, let's give it a try." Tony inserted the key into the keyhole, and it unexpectedly fit, so he turned it.
With a click, the lock opened.
But at the same time, yellow-green gas gushed out from every corner of the room, and it was obvious at a glance that it was not a good thing.
Tony cursed: "Damn it! I knew it wouldn't be that simple!"
Obadiah looked horrified: "That's poison gas! Tony, quick, take the chains away!"
The poisonous gas spread very quickly and immediately filled the entire room.
"Hold your breath!"
Tony held his breath and worked with Obadiah to remove the chains from his body.
These few seconds seemed as long as several minutes. By the time all the chains were untied, Tony's eyes were already filled with tears from the poison gas.
"Quick! This way!"
Tony covered his mouth and nose and spoke urgently.
However, what responded to him was an unreserved heavy punch.
Tony was completely unprepared for Obadiah and was hit hard on the cheek, causing him to fall to the ground.
"Sorry, Tony, I just want to live."
Obadiah said this without any regret and turned away.
Tony was filled with pain and anger after being betrayed suddenly, but Obadiah's punch was too hard for him to get up for a while. He could only watch Obadiah's back disappear in the poisonous gas with tears in his eyes.
At this time, Billy's gloating voice sounded at the right time: "Tony, you claim to be smart, but you can never see through people's hearts. How can you see through my game? Unfortunately, you lost. You lost to your own arrogance and the complexity of people's hearts. Are you ready to die?"
Tony was no longer able to answer. After being punched, he inevitably inhaled the poison gas.
The poisonous gas passed through his nostrils, mouth, and went down his throat into his lungs. Wherever it went, it flowed like lava, causing Tony burning pain.
He felt as if his throat was on fire and he coughed violently and uncontrollably, as if he might spit out burning smoke at any moment.
Tony wanted to struggle to get up, but the pain in his body made his movements as slow as a patient in bed for a long time. The distance of just a few steps seemed like a chasm in front of him, which made him despair.
Finally, he couldn't hold on any longer and fell to the ground. He raised his right hand helplessly and then fell down again dejectedly.
Me, am I going to die?
Tony closed his eyes, and various images kept flashing through his mind, finally stopping at the last time he saw his father.
Father, it seems I have to go find you. It’s a pity that I haven’t accomplished anything great. I can’t open your eyes, and I can’t make you say to me sincerely, “Son, you are great.”
Damn it, I’m so unwilling to accept this.
Tony's consciousness gradually became blurred. Before his mind completely disappeared, he seemed to hear two voices talking.
"Lord Xin, you have crossed the line. I was here first."
"Give me Tony Stark. He has the potential to be a successor."
"Can he become a torch?"
"That's right. Darkness will eventually come, and this world needs more flames to burn and pass on. Passing on the flame is our honor!"
